Andy Castellini TQs and wins Electric Buggy and Nitro Truggy!
Over the weekend of August 7-8, Hobby Hut Raceway in Audubon, PA, hosted the 5th round of the ROAR Region 2 Pro-Series. Team Associated driver Andy Castellini captured the 1:8 Electric Buggy TQ and 1:8 Nitro Truggy TQ. Having secured the top grid spot, he vindicates his TQ runs by winning the 1:8 Electric Buggy and 1:8 Nitro Truggy A Mains.
Andy's RC8Be was powered by Reedy's #720 4S battery and his RC8T was powered by the Reedy 121 VR engine. Power was never a problem, as Andy said he never once touched the back of the radio with the throttle in his RC8Be. The RC8T Truggy was on rails all day. The 30-minute main was not an easy win as the second-place qualifier and track local jumped out on a quick start for the lead. Andy stayed with him and took over about half way through and never gave it back. The RC8T was glued to the roughed-up track and skipped and slid through the ruts with confidence-inspiring speed.
Special thanks to the Hobby Hut crew for putting on a great event and congratulations to Andy on his great victories.
Thanks to George and Andy Castellini for this race report.
